EPHEMERAL
Short-lived entities,
short fleeting existence,
Travel spectra diffuse
they observe our world
from the threshold of being volatile,
are smoke are fog.
The ephemeral illusions
of our own reality
as reflections of inner lives,
which are nothing more than a hint of our own demise.

ZERO SUM
In the game "zero sum" everything that a player wins is exactly what his opponent loses.
One gains all while
the other loses everything.
The reality of daily life continually requires us to make exclusive decisions, which make a choice for the total decline is reversed.
The path taken is the path chosen, the other, which cut to the right or
marching down is forgotten.

His work is continually breaking stereotypes. Under his curious eye he shows us how sometimes we take our lives and comforts for granted although we are surrounded by the extreme cruelty of wars, hunger and people´s despair. Josep´s projects seem to point out all this sickness beneath reality through the simplicity of ordinary people acting in daily situations.
Echaburu´s work unravels a hidden truth. Each of his projects reveals what lies behind the door of our upstairs neighbour making us feel uneasy.
His photographs have been published in various national and international magazines: 1:1FOTO MAGAZINE(Spain), FWAPHOTO(England), ACTUPHOTO(France), FILE MAGAZINE(USA), F-STOP MAGAZINE(USA), PIEL DE FOTO(Spain), FOTO DNG(Argentina), GREY MAGAZINE(Greece), WALL DONE MAGAZINE(England), BLOW PHOTO MAGAZINE(Ireland), OJO DE PEZ(Spain), LIGHT MAGAZINE(Bulgaria).
As well as being a freelance artist, he also works as a photographer for the Spanish National Television tve.

LIFE CENTER
Nursing homes are probably the last home for a person, the last shelter, the last housing.
Hence these centers are easily confused with waiting rooms, with caves of sorrow, with
premises of sadness.
Many reports about nursing homes either focus on this aspect or show abuse or negligence cases towards the elderly.
Althought it may be less advertised, there is another reality that revolves around the life created in these nursing homes, the new friends and romances that arise, the cards or dominoes games, the conversations among the elderly, the hugs given or tears shed among mates, the stories that each one of them keeps in their memories, the desire to be and share.
It is a view of happiness, a snapshot of hope, the focusing of all the life generated in a nursing home for the elderly.

FAITH
.......... and raising my arms to heaven implore understanding, mercy and guidance. Is that where you find the answer?
The history of civilization has been telling us that the Church was the lap and arm protector of mankind. Currently, it is a fact that over 80% of the world population has some kind of belief.
The events verify that, once, in the West, the Catholic faith was the answer to our prayers, and sins, filled our insecurities and beat our fears. At present we are not far apart from that situation, it works with the same mechanisms and continue to embrace the faith and life expectancy. With this premise is evident the true power of religion. That neither the technology, medicine, astronomy, physics, etc, have been fighting with the belief in the existence of God and appease the various doctrines is what keeps her in constant debate at any time. Thus, from the purest human beings are rational faith.
The heirs of San Pedro and Maria Magdalena walk in the XXI century as I walked by once, from love and hope. Different scenarios for the same action, the powerful pulpit of a cathedral, the cloister or the altar of a church poor neighborhood, to give as an example. Getting the word of Christ, using all his weapons to tune and soothe the souls that yearn to be at peace with themselves. Every priest, monk or religious uses its own methodology and conception of the doctrine for the transmission of it is as consistent for them and the rest.
As each living their faith, and indoctrinated, from the deep simplicity and modesty to the floor raised from the higher pitch. The art of every prophet used to reach their expectant listeners. God's creatures who walk slowly and earnestly, that his word and gesture speak with us as they do with the divine. Hands and eyes that boost its appeal to heaven, trying to find the way redeemer of us all.
Hard work of these apostles of today, must arm themselves with a strong charisma, the divine word received by Moses on Mount Sinai lack of conviction if no help from other actions. Faced with the continuing doubt and uncertainty, converted into real jugglers, today, the priest, has come down from his pulpit, parishioners has approached and engaged in a closer relationship through faith, hope and charity.

PLACE OF PLACES
People appear normal but are not. Absolutely. They are heroes. Have been able to leave behind their own parents, siblings, children leaving home, the city or town they were born, the corner where they got the first kiss, maybe a love that is looking forward to another continent to retrieve a phone rings the voice of her lover with the sound on the wrapping that echo thought the parlor.
These are people who have traveled around the world. Not all in the same way, surely. Some, probably, for that glow that they had seen around looking to buy a ticket to the very death. A ticket, in many cases, only one way.
And then had the courage to come here, leaving behind everything that gives us a site belonging to a group or in the folds of the last sheet which sheltered before leaving. And now far from comforting to live in the memory of touch and smell of the sheets have made it a layer. The layer of heroes.
Have had the courage and the courage to leave all that and be able to live without that embrace restorative give you yours. That comforts you, that helps you cope with the bumps, which gives you encouragement to continue. Certainly have to lie under those gestures that are minimal, but at the same time so full.
I admit that I would not live without them, and you?

STORIES IN MOTION
... I think a bus is like a life.
Each day begins at the same time a predetermined course.
The breaks are always the same. His goal is known, reached the last stop to start again without appeal.
So again and again. Start a knowing cycle ending with the sole purpose of starting again.
However, each day is different. On each day going up the stairs told different people with different moods.
The beginning and end are mirror, events and people change.
I myself could be the laughing, that of the blank stare, or you the dreamer, which is spoken. We're just a passenger.
Is this the resemblance to life.
As much as they resemble, no day is the same as before. The difference in the everyday.
We seek happiness at every stop, and each thought that the next will find it, and found the same thing, just different.
But the beginning and end are there, waiting.
I could be waiting, passing the tired, and you who are listening, think. We're just one more individual.

Work dignifies and keeps our senses in alert. It is responsible for our social status, promotes human relations and make us keep our body and mind fit.
It is the place where we develop our skills and the space where we share our time with collegues either taking turns “now is your turn, later mine”, in activities “you do your own duties while I do mine" or going towards a goal “together we can”.
Carmen, Maria, William, Elena … they all share their work space in their daily duties. This people work taking turns; “before you arrive here or when you have gone”, doing different activities; “decluttering while you paint”, “cleaning the dust while you run the government”, “mopping the floor while you write”. They work towards a goal;”I want you to concentrate”, “I want you to be comfortable”, “I want this to be your perfect home”.
-"Take care, don't get hurt..." are the last words that come from my dad's lips when I'm leaving to the fights. My mom won't even watch my taped fights because she gets so emotional. Even when she knows that I won. My sister probably suffers as much as them, but she conceals it better and she encourages to give my best when competing. My girlfriend has got used to the nerves, the pressure, the injuries, the after training exhaustion, the concentration near the competitions, and she did so just because she knows that fighting is my passion. Probably all of them would be much more relaxed if I did anything else, however, they support me. Because they are my family. Because they love me. The same way I love them.
When I think about it, I understand them perfectly: Training for months giving painful blows to each other with your mates day in and day out, just to reach the fight day and give even more painful blows with somebody you barely know and whose aim is to knock you out. And all this to achieve what? In most cases, pure personal satisfaction. With luck, some title and with much luck, little money that will end paying your gym fee, the personal trainer fee who will help you to perform better, and the fisyotherapist fee that you visit more than you would like to...And on top of that, you must bear with the social prejudice that pursues you: "these guys are like animals, they have nothing in their heads". And I think to myself: "maybe we are a little bit more daring and this is what distinguishes us from those who just ride a bike or play basketball". All in all, sometimes, you would quit it all. But I will not. Because I love it.
